Team Gypsy
Team Gypsy is a Malawian rap group with three producers Sean Focus, Wizaymes and Big Y and two songwriters BoiMagic and Ms Gypsy. They are based in Malawi. Signed to Matalala Records.
They focus mostly on the Afro-beat genre with hits such as One Life Stand which was number 1 on the charts for four consecutive weeks.
Their Stutter and Travelling videos made their way to the music channels such as MTV-Base Africa and Channel O putting Malawian music on the map
They are currently working on a project called Travelling which is meant to be released later this year. There new hit single Wakuba is taking Malawi by storm and is currently.
Team Gypsy was recently nominated in the R&B category for a prestigious Malawi Music Award this year alongside Theo Thompson. Which they won this is a major achievement for this budding musical collective.
Watch out for what Team Gypsy have to offer in 2011 as they have been deemed to be the ones to watch out for on the urban music scene in Malawi.
