Biography

George Ernest Malekano, better known by his stage name Dr M-Jek Ranking, is a passionate Reggae, Dancehall, and Afro artist from Malawi. Born on April 4, 1996, in Salima, he is the second-born in a family of five children. In 2001, his family relocated to Lilongwe, a move that would later become the foundation for his music journey. Dr M-Jek Ranking began his music career at a young age of 17, officially stepping into the industry on November 21, 2013, when he recorded his very first song in Lilongwe. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to develop his sound and artistic identity, consistently delivering music that resonates with fans across Malawi and beyond. In 2023, he took a major step forward by joining Akumudzi Band, marking his transition into live music performances. This experience elevated his artistry and stage presence, helping him connect more deeply with audiences through energetic and heartfelt performances. Driven by a strong work ethic and unwavering commitment, Dr M-Jek Ranking has vowed to take his music to greater heights, aiming to become one of the most influential and respected names internationally and in the Malawian music industry.
