Biography

Born July 26th in Zimbabwe at Mabvuku central hospital Harare, with one elder brother and sister from the first wife and one elder sister and two younger sisters from the same womb. Matthew Changalusa is the second born and only son in his family. Born in Zimbabwe but raised in Malawi. He mainly grew up in Blantyre, Nkolokosa, where he did all his primary and secondary education, with a one and a half year in Lilongwe where he obtained his certificate in ECD and primary education at people's collage. In 2012 Matthew got his first teaching job at DIVINE DESTINY ACADEMY located in the heart of Manja and Soche central township in Blantyre. Matthew boasts of having 3 years of experience in teaching before he joined his brother in Besvalley (South Africa) to pursue new dreams. Music career: Best known as Villar, while growing up, Matthew was exposed to a lot of music genres from Hip hop, Afropop, etc, played by his uncle "Shingirai Mpesi" who is a well known dj in Malawi. He was then working at 101 FM. "The music he played sharpened me into a great musician" says Matthew. At the age of 17 Matthew thought of giving it a try. He dropped his first Hip hop song namely AM THE BEST MAN. During his schooling days at Manja secondary school and later performed it on his graduation day as a showcase of talent. The song caught people's attention and he was awarded "Best musician of the year ". Later on Matthew began to work on his music career in 2013. He dropped a House song "NYADA NDI YESU" which was played in most of the public radios and performed it at several different shows. Since then Matthew was signed to K.O Beats (knock out beats). Due to location distance, Matthew become a solo artistand is working under his own label VILLAR MUSIC. Apart from being a musician Matthew Changalusa is also a tv and radio presenter, a poet, an actor, a painter, a sculpture and some of his work is being admired and appreciated at the museum of Malawi in Blantyre.
