Biography

Thocco Katimba is a Gospel Musician born in a family of five. His home district is Kasungu in Yamwala village, Traditional authority Wimbe. He started Singing at a very tender age and his passion for music grew bigger and bigger in the mid 90s and he used to sing in church choir. Born on 15th December 1980 Thocco Katimba released his first Single in the year 1999 titled Asayansi Bodza seconded by Ndalipeza banja in the year 2000 and this song enjoyed airplay in most Radio stations back then. He is a devoted born again Christian and he Worships at Malawi Assemblies of God. Thocco Katimba is an Accountant by profession and he is a Business Man trading as TK investments. In 2005 he released his first album titled Unasankha Ndani, this is the album that put him into the spotlight and many people mistook his voice and name for a lady. It took a while for people to be sure his is a man. With top hits like Ndipatseni yankho and Usalire tonthola & Please forgive me Thocco Katimba enjoyed massive airplay and sold more copies at O.G Issa. In 2008 he released his second album titled Werenga Madalitso ako which featured great hits like Ambuye ndiribe nanu mawu, Mulendo akamabwera & many more hits. This album was the best selling album for the period of 2years at O.G Issa & it's official Launch at French Cultural Centre was named the record breaking Show. In 2010 Thocco Katimba again shocked the nation with another powerful album titled Ndidzaimabe which carries all time great hits like Anaphiri, Undipatse mpata, Banja lodala Undilonderanji and many other tracks. Thocco Katimba's Music is very unique because he tackles day to day living experiences and he relates them to the Christian life which makes it very easy for people to understand his message & concept. Thocco Katimba's most painful moment is when he lost his wife Maggie Katimba on 8th January 2013. He is a father to one beautiful girl Chipatso Katimba. Towards the end of the year 2013 he released his fourth successful album titled Nthambi which carries the hits like Mwasintha nyengo zanga, Misonzi ya Chimwemwe, Nthambi & Usatukwane Mulungu. In 2015 he released another album titled Bakha which carries the hit Bakha & Ndakhululuka. In 2021 he's back with a sixth album titled MUKUSANGALATSA NDANI? which features songs like Dikilirabe, Anga ndimatamando, Ondisamala & Mukusangalatsa ndani. Thocco Katimba is very determined that he will continue to preach the good news & bring hope to the hopeless through his music until his last breath.
