Biography

Founded in 2001 in Traditional Authority Mizinga, Machinga district, the Mikoko Zambezi Evangelical Choir began with five members and has since grown to 30 under the leadership of Andson Afati. Initially known for their spirited church performances, the choir expanded its activities in 2022, engaging in agricultural work to fund a studio project. On November 5th, 2023, with support from musician Yohane J Smis, the choir started recording at Adam's Records. Producing five songs, including "Bwera Msanga" and "Usalire," they collaborated with producer Adam's Douglas. Eager to complete a full album, Mikoko Zambezi Evangelical Choir envisions spreading their uplifting message through the power of music.
