Biography

Jupapa/Jupsy is an upcoming Dance-hall artist based in Lilongwe, Chinsapo. His real name is Davidson M'baya. Born on 18th January 1991, Davies M’baya, well known by his stage name Ras Jupapah is a dancehall and reggae artist based in Lilongwe Malawi. Ras Jupapah also known as Jupsy started music in 2003 and recorded his first single in 2005 which was titled “Kuipa Kwanga”. Since then Jupapah has recorded a number of songs with various producers. Currently he has been collaborating with a music group called Ghetto Survivors Empire which he founded. Joseph Hill, Anthony B, Bennie Man and Capliton are some the artists that jupapah greatly admires, while on the local scene he admires the works of late Everson Matafale and Paul Banda. Some of the songs Jupapah has recorded which are expected to hit the airwaves include Martha, akufuna kundipha, Patricia, burn Ullah Dem and Ganja me Blazing. With Ghetto Survivors Empire, they have recorded songs such as Nkumbatireni, Jah Love, and they are currently working on projects such as survivors’ party and step by step.
