Trappy Beats

Trappy Beats is a Malawian musician and audio producer based in Blantyre. His real name is Ian Derrick Ngalange, he was born on 27 October 2000 in Dowa district He finished his secondary school education at the age of 16, and began producing music back in 2009. He Went to University of Malawi Chancellor College where he did computer science. His father used to play music of all kinds of genres around him growing up, hence he got introduced to music at an early age. Trappybeats’s brother is also an artist and producer, he was introduced to the concept of programming music using computer software by him and his friends that owned a studio at that time. Trappy Beats stated in an interview with Touching base on MBC Tv that he discovered his passion for music at a very early age. In those days, he used to make beats on his father’s work laptop until he actually bought himself a home studio. He has produced songs of big artists with big names in music industry the likes of Nimix, Piksy, Third Eye, Jay Hood and Gemini Major Just to mention a few.
