Slyc

Innocent Malemia popularly known as Slyc is a Zomba-based musician and producer. Born on 8th June in 1993, Slyc originally comes from Nakhwala Village, Senior Chief Chikowi, Zomba. Better recognised as one of the musicians who do music that values local culture, the 29-year old artist became famous in 2015 after releasing a hit called Ndabwerako before releasing another danceable banger titled Tandigwire Dale a year later. Academically, the former Mulunguzi and Masongola Secondary School student is reportedly studying journalism at the Malawi Institute of Journalism. Currently, he is the executive producer at Heat Wave Records (formerly Power House Records). After dropping album titled Owner's Risk last year, the self-claimed Zomba City Representative has recently released single called Ndapanga Dala which has gone viral on social media. The aforementioned one-year old 10-track album has songs such as Awiz Abwera, Ujeni, Ndivule Kodi, Inkata and Ma Vowel. Apart from the named tracks, Slyc is also known with songs such as Anapoila, Ngati Janta, Malingaliro, Phalombe and Ndilore.
