Just Slim

Paul Banda (born 17 June 1989) known professionally as Just Slim is a Zambian recording artist, songwriter, and music producer. He began producing music in 2006 and became affiliated with XYZ Entertainment in 2008 where he earned co-production credit for Slap Dee’s hit single titled “Gold Digger” featuring JK off the Black Na White album. In 2010, after parting ways with XYZ Entertainment he released 2 singles titled “Me” and “Wachelwa” which featured in an MTV documentary titled “Me, Myself and HIV.” In 2012, he released a mixtape titled ‘Proof’ with the lead single titled “Keeper” which enjoyed a considerable amount of airplay across the capital city – Lusaka. In 2013, he was appointed an ambassador to the Brothers for Life campaign which led to a collaboration with Cactus Agony, Tio Nason, and Paul Da Prince for the campaign’s theme song produced by Mag44. Between 2015 and 2017, he released solo singles consecutively namely; Pon Replay produced by Shom C in 2015, Stay Positive in 2016 and It Ain’t Easy in 2017 both produced by him. In 2015, he collaborated with B Flow on a song titled “Know Your Status” that was in support of a campaign by the Aids Health Care foundation. In 2016, he performed alongside B Flow at the “Keep the Promise” March and Concert at Kingsmead Stadium in Durban with over 10,000 people in attendance, rubbing shoulders with Common, Queen Latifah, Big Nuz, Mi Casa, and other celebrities. In 2017, “Know Your Status” was nominated in the first ever Kwacha Music Awards under the Most Conscious Song category. In 2018, he collaborated with Cactus Agony on a self-produced single titled “Mi Want Yuh” which peaked at number 3 on the Hot FM Top 10 at 10 and number 1 on the Taffy Raw Chart on Power FM. He went on to release 2 more singles titled “Nikukonde” featuring Mic Li and “Wechibeibe” in the same year. Nikukonde received overwhelming support from fans which led to an official music video being shot for it. In 2019, he featured on DJ ILL’s single titled “Bumper 2 Bumper” alongside D-Ice and Mr. COG. Between 2020 and 2022, he has worked with Mr. COG making him the most frequent collaborator/producer he has ever worked with. He has produced four singles so far namely; Chumvwika Bwino, Special Somebody featuring T Bwoy, Make You Proud, and Ku Macha featuring Kreative Nativez. Chumvwika Bwino has an official music video with over 4K views on youtube making it his most streamed video on the platform.
