Dapa

Dapa whose real name is Bright Dapalapa Mhango was born in Dedza, Malawi. Dapa is an artist who performs different types of music, mostly Afrofusion and Reggae. He realized his musical talent at a tender age through his brother Ish Dapalapa before recording songs in the studio. He released songs like Bola Hule, Bedi then connected with warge records and started jumping on his famous riddims like sin city and itchoke itchoke which featured big artists like the late mafunyeta. In 2015 Dapa aka Bingolingo won his first Malawi Music Award for the best new artist among other winners like Lawi, Tay Grin and Dan Lu. Dapa claims to have been influenced by reggae and dancehall icons like Buju Banton, Sizzla, Antony B, Jah Cure, Romain virgo, Capriton, Chronnix, Phantom mojah just to mention a few. On the local scene, he grew up admiring his brother Ish Dapalapa and Wambali Mkandawire. Dapa has managed to work with artist such as Hyphen, Blaze, Malinga Mafia, Ace Dirty, Awiri, Macelba, Episods, Mwanache, Gibo Lantos, and many more. Dapa has dropped his first EP titled L. D. M. E. which stands for Lock Down Mixed Emotions and its available on all digital platforms.
