Blacksta

Noel Mhango aka BLACKSTA, was born and raised up in the city of Lilongwe Malawi. He grew up in the famous suburb of Area 18. His interest in music developed at an early age as he watched his brother Cjay, rehearsing for their band. He developed an interest in dancehall style of music and began to perform at a very young age in various talent shows. He was an outstanding performer and a lot of people were amazed by his talent. They used to call him star because of his unique and vibrant performance. This is from where the name Blacksta was derived from. In 2008, he formed a group called Mabilinganya Empire, the same group that the late famous Malawian dancehall superstar Mafunyeta, joined the following year, 2009. Mabilinganya Empire is one of the well established dancehall groups in the country. Blacksta has three mix tapes and one album to his name. He has collaborated and performed with artists like Gwamba, Mady P, Gift Phiri and Malinga Mafia. Internationally, he has collaborated with Doodvenootskap (D.V.S), Snow, ZHAN and Level, all from SA.
