King Kstar, whose real name is Kelvin Betha Nguluwe, is a Malawian Hip-Hop artist, MC, and event host from Manase, Blantyre, Malawi. Born in 2001, King Kstar is of Tumbuka heritage and uses music as a platform for teaching, entertaining, and informing people, a mission captured in his slogan: what Else'? by To Teach, Entertain, and Inform.
His music journey began in 2015, and in 2018 he became associated with SRS Music, where he continued developing his artistry and presence in the local music industry. Through dedication and consistency, King Kstar has built a reputation for delivering authentic Hip-Hop music that reflects everyday experiences and community realities.
In 2022, he released his debut EP titled “Hidden Talent (HT)”, showcasing his lyrical ability and creative potential. He followed this with another project, “Street Novels”, released in 2025, further establishing his identity as a storyteller and voice of the streets.
Throughout his career, King Kstar has collaborated with notable artists, including Blackafella, and has shared stages with respected performers such as Njuchi, Eustice, Mellz, and Gattah Ase, among others.
Beyond music, King Kstar is also an experienced Master of Ceremonies (MC) and event host. Through Kumene Entertainment, he has hosted various shows featuring artists such as Onesimus, Jolasto, Inkos Jay Vee, Blackafella, Mady Stephen, Mady Spark, and Mady Cola. He has also served as a host for major roadshows organized by organizations such as MACRA and MEC.
With a growing catalog of music, strong stage presence, and experience as both an artist and presenter, King Kstar continues to contribute to Malawi's entertainment industry while inspiring audiences through his message-driven Hip-Hop music.
Following the success of his debut EP “Hidden Talent (HT)” in 2022, King Kstar returned in 2025 with “Street Novels,” a six-track Hip-Hop EP that highlighted his artistic maturity and storytelling ability. The project demonstrated his versatility and dedication to creating music that resonates with everyday life and community experiences.
