From a Christian musically influenced family, Cosby Ngumuya was born in Blantyre, Malawi on January 31st, 1994. Growing up in Chitawira with his sister Migress and parents Davie & Gertrude Ngumuya, they soon left Africa in search for a better life in America. Most of Cosby's upbringing was in the USA where he was privileged enough to see how life was lived on the other side of the ocean. By 2012, the Ngumuya family decided to return back to the motherland after they received their newest member, Zipporah Ngumuya.
On arrival back to his homeland, Cosby wasn't as familiar with what he had left behind and was quickly distressed once seeing the condition of his own country. This led him to begin questioning his own identity and seeking the answers in all the wrong places. Soon Cosby didn't care for much but music and women, hoping that he could use them as his emotional outlet. After meeting with Yesaya at his high school performance, Cosby was soon introduced to Canny One & Boy Magic who later worked together on various projects including their hit single "Zokoma". As a well-known secular artist, Cosby soon lost himself in the industry and all its vices which only drew him further away from his Heavenly Father, Jehovah.
On the Sabbath of April 19th, 2014 his life was forever changed. On this day, Cosby was baptized and received the Holy Spirit at Kabula Seventh Day Adventist Church in Blantyre. This momentous event in his life occurred after he had already decided to draw away from all the vanity that was blinding him including ending his long addiction to strong alcohol and tobacco which was badly affecting his health. After more understanding on the seriousness of this life changing decision, Cosby gave his new spiritual life and growth the upmost attention. Being led by The Spirit, Cosby was able to receive powerful revelations which questioned the system and even the Church and what it's become.
With his parents "still in the system" and unable to fully comprehend the man he was becoming, Cosby decided to move out of his parents home to preach this gospel to the rest of the world with only one thousand kwacha in his pocket an equivalence to about a dollar. Cosby has referred to that point in time of his life as his "forty days in the wilderness". Through all that he was taught by The Spirit, Cosby was led to creating the album Jehovah and writing The Book volume 1 which he released on January 1st 2015.
