Biography

Malawi’s established reggae dancehall music group ‘Afarisi’ entered musical scene early 2005 where four members where entertaining Music lovers at school level. By then members included; Mady Sangwa, Chicco Batman, Lico Bounty and Poi-zone. In 2008, with help from late Vic Marley and Grogory Mulema, they branded the group and recruited other recording artists including C-Willa and Stich Fray. In 2010 they enjoyed massive airplay at FM 101’s power gowero beats radio show with Dj Crisis, during that time one of group member ‘Stich Fray’ opened a recording studio, D&T records and they worked hand in hand with ‘Binge’ of Zovala Zanga hit song in producing music. The Blantyre based group has been well known as Musical brothers with Don Dadaz alliance and has worked with producers including Dj Lil, Dj Meg and Elvis Chingoma. In addition to that they have also recorded music collaborations with Twin M, Don Dadaz Alliance and Tweener just to mention three. Currently the group has two active members, the band leader known as Poi-Zone and Lico Bonty real name Davie Sibande and Chiyembekezo Mponda respectively. With help from their manager Elias Nkolesha, there are about to release an extended play (EP) titled ‘love is enough’ and music visual of their songs titled ""Noni-noni",‘No holiday’ and ‘Phone yakoyo’ later this year (2022).
